Our Vision For Restoration: Restoring People to God

Our vision at Pathways is to see our city reflect God’s redemption. When God redeems restoration takes place. People who feel distant from God begin to feel reconciled to God. Neighbors have meals together. Marriages are marked by love, joy and putting the other first. Children feel cherished. Those who feel alone find community. Money is redistributed and the poor are empowered. Art reflects God’s work in our world. Places that are run down become beautiful again.

The Restoration Campaign focuses on restoring people to God through two key components.

[1] Space for Ministry

Temple Events Center

This last year God provided, through the generosity of people at Pathways, the Temple Events Center. We now want to restore what God has provided to maximize its use for, worship, connecting people to God, ministering to the poor and creating art that reflects God’s beauty in our world. We also want to pay down half of our $1 million debt on the building. The interest saved by paying off this debt will be used for ministry to those in need.

The cost of doing mission critical restorations to the TEC: $1.5 million
The cost of paying down half of our debt: $500,000
Total cost: $2 million

Wash Park

Our Wash Park congregation continues to invite people from neighborhoods throughout the south parts of the city limits. Our vision is becoming reality in our little building on Grant. We regularly see people find their way back to God and spiritual community. To see our vision grow in Wash Park and its surrounding neighborhoods we will need a larger space with more seats, parking, and room for our expanding children and youth ministries.

Seed money to find a larger facility: $250,000

[2] Support for the Poor

Addressing poverty. There are more than 2,300 verses in the Bible that champion the poor. Restoring the poor to wholeness is a passion of God’s that is second only to people being restored to Him. As we mature as a church we want to become increasingly active serving the poor both locally and globally. Therefore we plan to invest 10% of the money we raise in this campaign for projects we develop in conjunction with our local ministry partners in Denver and our global partnerships in New Orleans, Mexico, Nepal and Africa.

Amount we would like to give to the poor: $250,000

Our goal for The Restoration Campaign
$2.5 million over three years

Funding the ministry we already have

Purchasing the TEC forced us to create two staff teams to oversee worship, small groups, children, and youth ministries at each location. We also added staff to keep us moving forward with our social action ministries both locally and globally. 85% are part-time. Our staff: recruit, care for and train our volunteer leaders. To keep up with our growth our monthly operational budget must grow

Last year our revenues came to $1.1 million. Our budget this year is $1.3 million. This will only sustain our current size. To reach out to those on the fringe of our community and help them become passionate, devoted followers of Jesus Christ we need $1.5 million to reach our ministry potential this year.

We are asking everyone in the church to prayerfully make a generous commitment to our vision that will not only provide space for people to find restoration and to restore the poor, but also provide for the staff we need to create environments and opportunities for people to grow, serve and give.
