2007 Christmas Store
The 2007 Christmas Store is a partnership between Mile High Ministries and
Pathways Church. Last year was our first year with this event and we were
able to serve over 200 families in the Denver Metro Area. This year’s store
will be on December 8th at the Temple Events Center.
The Christmas Store provides the opportunity for Denver moms and dads to purchase brand new toys at 25% of the retail cost. The atmosphere of the store affirms and supports the parent's efforts to provide for their families. Parents are invited to participate by churches and ministries who serve the poor in Denver's inner city. Dignity is as much a product of the store as the toys.
There are three ways that you can be involved in this event:
Seek
We are asking that you would seek out families who might benefit from the Christmas Store. Maybe in your job, your neighborhood, small group, whatever your circle of influence - if you identify a family who may need some assistance in their Christmas shopping this year, you can nominate them for the Christmas store. There is a limited number of slots so contact Dave Neuhausel (daven@pathwayschurch.org) by November 20th to nominate a family.
Serve
You also can serve by volunteering on the day of the store. We are in need of lots of different help like: gift-wrapping, greeter, hospitality, shopper assistance, parking assistance, bilingual help!
You must be available for the entire event to volunteer! You must RSVP by either calling the voicemail registration system: 303-839-5198 or via email: cs@milehighmin.org (Be sure to include your name, phone number, address and the role you would most prefer to serve in - first come, first serve!
Sponsor
Finally, this year we have the opportunity to sponsor a child in Denver who will benefit from the Christmas Store. On the tree are ornaments (made by our children at Pathways in the children’s ministry!) It costs us $37.60 to povide two gifts for each child shopped for at the event, while it only costs the family $5 per gift!
You may have noticed a Christmas tree at one of the services you attended at Pathways. Each ornament on the tree (made by our own Pathways children's ministry) represents different designations: a gift = $20, a child = $40, a family = $80, $120, or $160.
In the next several weeks until Christmas you can choose an ornament from the tree that represents the sponsorship you would like to make on behalf of a child or family who will benefit from the store. There is a box next to the tree where you can drop cash or a check (make checks payable to Pathways Church) that matches the ornament you choose. You can also sponsor a child from our website Take the ornament home and put it on your own tree or in a place that will be a reminder to you about families all across Denver who will benefit from the store.
The more sponsorships we receive, the bigger our impact will be and the more families who will be able to participate in the store!
